First wash

Not only did I get yarn from Knit Picks, I also bought some Eucalan woolwash. My enormous blue scarf had its first bath last night. I'm thinking I will have to wash it again, the blue color of the leftover water makes me nervous. I don't want to have my scarf get damp from snow and then bleed onto my coat!

What a beautiful blue coloured scarf...I would be worried too if it would bleed colour onto other clothing. Try vinegar....it sets colour, and I've used it with fabric, and fibre. Use it in the final wash and see if you get any bleeding after that. Let me know.

That's a gorgeous shade of blue!

I second the vinegar recommendation. I've had a lot of yarns bleed in the wash, but have had only one bleed onto clothes -- my Molly Ringwald on a particularly sweaty day (ew, I know). I hadn't used vinegar in the wash with that one. Thankfully, the dye that bled onto my white undershirt came off in the wash.

thanks, I will have to try the vinegar trick. Does the smell go away after rinsing a couple times?

Blue dyes always bleed in a bath - but I think Chicago Snow won't ruin it. :)
